Uzbekistan and US discuss development of military-technical cooperation

On 12 May 2018, the Minister of Defense of Uzbekistan Abdusalom Azizov held a meeting with the delegation of the United States of America led by the commander of the US Central Command General Joseph Votel.
The sides discussed the current state of affairs and prospects for development of Uzbek-American cooperation in the field of defense and military education.
The parties exchanged views on strengthening mutually beneficial ties in the military-technical field.
It was said that over the past historical period it was possible to achieve tangible results in development of comprehensive and multifaceted interstate relations, including in the field of defense.
On 13 May, members of the US military delegation will get acquainted with the historical and cultural sights of Samarkand.
