Uzbekistan and UNESCO discuss new horizons of partnership
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan headed by the first deputy chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Sadyk Safaev is paying visit to France.
The delegation also includes Deputy Prime Minister Aziz Abdukhakimov, Chairman of the Committee of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis for Democratic Institutions, Non-Governmental Organizations and Citizens’ Self-Government Bodies Akmal Saidov and Deputy Minister of Culture Kamola Akilova.
During the visit, the delegation of Uzbekistan held talks with the Assistants of Director-General of UNESCO Xing Qu and Ernesto Ottone Ramírez.
At the meeting, the delegation of Uzbekistan presented information on the ongoing reforms in all spheres of life in Uzbekistan.
Representatives of Uzbekistan and UNESCO discussed issues of interaction and prospects for deepening relations between the parties.
The Uzbek side noted that Uzbekistan pays great attention to cooperation with UNESCO, including in the sphere of preservation and development of cultural and historical heritage.
One of the joint projects will be the International Maqom Art Forum, which will be held in Shahrisabz in September 2018 under the auspices of UNESCO.
Representatives of UNESCO highly appreciated the reforms carried out in Uzbekistan in the field of education, science and culture. Officials of the organization expressed their readiness to render all possible support in the implementation of promising projects.
Uzbekistan and UNESCO agreed to accept and implement the "Country Program" with a number of specific activities.
