Uzbekistan and UBAF Discuss Development of Interbank Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 4 November, Advisor to the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Khashimov held a meeting with representatives of Union de Banques Arabes et Françaises (UBAF) — Regional Directors Olivier Grizard and Olivier Topuz.

During the talks, the parties discussed UBAF’s development strategy, its international achievements, and prospects for expanding the bank’s operations in Uzbekistan.

They also reviewed issues related to boosting foreign trade relations, broadening export and import activities, and strengthening cooperation with countries in Europe, East and South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.

Special attention was given to modern financial instruments used to support international trade, including documentary letters of credit, international guarantees, trade and export financing, and opportunities for cooperation with export credit agencies and multilateral financial institutions.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed mutual interest in further developing interbank cooperation, introducing innovative export financing mechanisms, and enhancing the qualifications of financial sector professionals.
