Uzbekistan and UAE Strengthen Cooperation in Combating Cybercrime and Terrorism

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 11 December, in Abu Dhabi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Olimjon Abdullaev met with Deputy Minister of Interior of the UAE Said Abdullah al-Suwaidi.

The sides discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation in the security sphere. Al-Suwaidi highly appreciated the level of interaction achieved, noting the successful organization of joint seminars, training sessions, and international conferences on combating cybercrime, terrorism, transnational crime, as well as information security and modern technologies.

Special attention was given to the Uzbek initiative to use the “UAE Fast-track” platform to simplify entry for Uzbek citizens into the Emirates. Al-Suwaidi confirmed that all necessary measures will be taken to implement this mechanism as soon as possible.

Additionally, he expressed full support for the proposal to appoint a representative of the Ministry of Interior of Uzbekistan at the embassy in Abu Dhabi to coordinate efforts in combating organized crime, preventing illegal migration, and strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of security.
