Uzbekistan and UAE mull development of trade-economic relations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, the Uzbek-Emirati Business Forum and Cooperation Exchange took place in Tashkent with the participation of business circles of the two countries.

The delegation of the United Arab Emirates, led by the management of the company Dubai ExportS, included representatives of more than 30 representatives of 17 companies and government agencies in Dubai.

The delegation also included leading and large manufacturing companies in the field of the construction industry, food, packaging, pharmaceuticals, etc.

During the meeting, the UAE representatives got acquainted with the reforms carried out in Uzbekistan to improve the investment climate, liberalize the economy, and ensure the protection of the legitimate rights and interests of entrepreneurs.

Speakers at the meeting noted that the promising areas of bilateral cooperation is increasing mutual trade, opening new joint ventures in the fields of energy, pharmaceuticals, engineering, advisory services, industry and the production of building materials.

During the meeting between the business circles of the two countries in the B2B format, prospects for the further development of the Uzbek-Emirates trade and economic cooperation were discussed, including an exchange of views on the intensification of partnerships between enterprises of Uzbekistan and the UAE.

At the end of 2018, the volume of trade between Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates increased by 23%, reaching US$141.5 million. At the same time, the growth of exports of Uzbek products to the UAE market was 32.4%, (exports - US$60.9, imports - US$80.6 million).
