Uzbekistan and UAE Expand Cooperation in Meteorology and Environmental Protection
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 21 July, a high-level meeting was held in Tashkent between Uzbekistan’s Agency for Hydrometeorology, led by Director Shavkat Khabibullaev, and a delegation from the United Arab Emirates headed by Dr. Abdulla Ahmed Al Mandous, Director of the UAE National Center of Meteorology and President of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
The parties discussed prospects for strengthening bilateral cooperation in key areas such as hydrometeorology, climate change monitoring, environmental protection, scientific research, and professional training and capacity-building.
Following the talks, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Uzbekistan’s Agency for Hydrometeorology and the UAE National Center of Meteorology, outlining a framework for future collaboration.
