Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan Expand Agricultural Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of the International Forum “Italy – Central Asia (C5) + Azerbaijan,” Uzbekistan’s Minister of Agriculture, Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov, met with Turkmenistan’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Berkeli Berkeliev.

The parties discussed prospects for further development of bilateral cooperation in agriculture, experience sharing, and expanding joint projects. Special attention was given to the effective use of opportunities in cotton seed production, regional distribution, and the introduction of high-yield varieties.

An important aspect of the dialogue was the digitalization of agriculture and the implementation of modern technologies.

The participants exchanged views on promoting joint initiatives, the practical application of innovative solutions, and training farmers in modern agrotechnologies.

It was also noted that implementing pilot projects to improve farmers’ qualifications will help increase crop yields and expand the agricultural export potential.

Following the negotiations, both sides confirmed their readiness to continue consistent and mutually beneficial cooperation, implement new joint projects, and modernize the agricultural sector.
