Uzbekistan and Türkiye Discuss Cooperation in the Field of Migration
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of the working visit of the Uzbek delegation to Ankara, a meeting was held on 27 October at the Ministry of Interior of Türkiye.
Deputy Minister of Interior of Türkiye Mehmet Aktaş emphasized that, thanks to the efforts of the leaders of both countries, Uzbekistan and Türkiye are maintaining close cooperation, particularly in the area of internal affairs.
During the meeting, the Turkish side expressed its readiness to explore the possibility of granting work permits to Uzbek citizens who entered Türkiye under other visa categories, without requiring them to leave the country.
In addition, the parties expressed their intention to introduce electronic work visas, jointly develop a unified electronic database on individuals staying illegally, and consider signing a memorandum of cooperation between the Ministries of Interior of the two countries aimed at combating illegal migration and facilitating the voluntary return of citizens to their homeland.
