Uzbekistan and Tunisia Discuss Expanding Trade and Investment Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 12 February, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, held talks with a delegation of the Tunisian Republic led by Jamel Ksibi, President of the National Federation of Entrepreneurs in Construction and Public Works.

The negotiations focused on expanding bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The sides exchanged assessments of the current state of trade, economic, and investment relations and discussed prospects for their further development, placing particular emphasis on strengthening direct contacts between business communities and promoting joint projects.

The Uzbek side presented information on ongoing reforms, measures to improve the investment climate, and a portfolio of projects open to participation by foreign investors.

Special attention was paid to opportunities for cooperation in infrastructure, construction, industry, and the agro-industrial sector.

The Tunisian delegation expressed interest in participating in infrastructure modernization and in the localization of production in Uzbekistan.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to continue working on joint initiatives and to develop a long-term partnership between the two countries.
