Uzbekistan and TIKA Discuss Cooperative Development

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held at the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan with Esin Açar Ergin, Head of the Representative Office of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), to discuss the development of bilateral cooperation.

The meeting was also attended by A. Sarabekov, Head of the Minister’s Secretariat. The parties focused primarily on improving the legal mechanisms for the operation of cooperatives aimed at raising living standards and reducing poverty, particularly in rural areas.

During the talks, practical results from the activities of the "Navkat COOP" in the Samarkand region and "Dilorom COOP" in the Surkhandarya region were presented. It was noted that their work facilitates the creation of new jobs and provides essential support for women and youth.

The participants specifically examined Türkiye's experience in developing cooperatives involving women and young people, which could be adapted for implementation in Uzbekistan.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to further strengthen their partnership and implement joint initiatives in this field.
