Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 13 August 2025, a meeting took place between Esin Acar Ergin, Head of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) representation in Uzbekistan, and Ilkhom Umrzakov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan.

TİKA is the official development agency of the Republic of Turkey, established in 1992. Today, it operates more than 60 coordination offices in over 60 countries. The agency’s activities focus on implementing projects in the fields of economy, culture, education, healthcare, and technical cooperation with partner countries.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed prospects for expanding collaboration, including organizing training programs for representatives of local enterprises according to Turkish standards in six priority areas, as well as implementing joint projects in other promising sectors with the support of TİKA grants.

Special attention was given to energy efficiency, support for urbanization, rational use of water resources, development of the service sector, and other directions.

It was noted that in 2025, TİKA will participate in organizing professional development programs and training courses for ministry staff and subordinate organizations in Tashkent and Ankara.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue developing mutually beneficial cooperation and systematically implement the planned projects and initiatives.
