Uzbekistan and the United States Agree on Cooperation in Agriculture
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During the C5+1 summit in Washington, the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov, held a meeting with Dr. Scott Hutchins, Deputy for Science, Education, and Economics at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
The parties discussed the development of bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector, including the implementation of joint projects in scientific research and educational programs. Particular attention was given to the exchange of expertise in soybean and cotton cultivation and processing, conducting joint scientific studies, and expanding the export potential of Uzbek agricultural products.
During the negotiations, further steps were outlined to introduce innovations in the agricultural sector, strengthen links between scientific institutions, and implement collaborative research projects.
Dr. Scott Hutchins highly appreciated the ongoing agricultural reforms in Uzbekistan and confirmed the United States’ readiness to expand cooperation in scientific, technical, and trade areas.
