Uzbekistan and the United Nations Sign Cooperation Programme for 2026–2030

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Republic of Uzbekistan and the United Nations have signed a Cooperation Framework for 2026–2030, defining strategic priorities for joint efforts in achieving sustainable development.

On 24 October of this year, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted an event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the United Nations (UN).

The event was attended by the First Deputy Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Sodiq Safoyev; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, Jamshid Kuchkarov; UN Resident Coordinator in Uzbekistan, Sabine Machl; ambassadors of partner countries; and heads of UN agencies operating in the republic.

Participants noted that cooperation with the UN has contributed to Uzbekistan’s progress in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with the country improving its position by 19 places in the global ranking.

The 2026–2030 Programme aims to implement the agreements reached during President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s meeting with UN Secretary-General António Guterres and to support new joint initiatives to advance the SDGs.

UN representatives reaffirmed their readiness to further expand cooperation with Uzbekistan, including in areas such as sustainable economic growth, human rights protection, social resilience, and the implementation of national development strategies.
