Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom Agree to Build a Waste Processing Plant in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of a visit by a delegation of Uzbekistan led by Deputy Mayor of Tashkent Abdulaziz Israilov to London, a business forum dedicated to the development of Uzbek–British cooperation in the field of waste processing was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Dunyo News Agency reports.

The event was attended by representatives of the UK Export Finance agency (UKEF), as well as companies including CDE Group, Kiverco, Fichtner, and Operis, along with a number of major investors interested in implementing environmental and infrastructure projects in Uzbekistan.

During the forum, leading British manufacturers of waste processing equipment, CDE Group and Kiverco, delivered presentations on their technological solutions and projects planned for implementation in the Uzbek market.

Following the negotiations, company representatives signed an agreement to construct a modern waste processing plant in Tashkent that will comply with international environmental standards and focus on the introduction of advanced waste management technologies.

As part of the visit, an ознакомительная tour was also organized for the Uzbek delegation to operating waste processing facilities in London. During these visits, representatives of Tashkent studied the United Kingdom’s practical experience in environmental management, waste sorting and recycling, as well as approaches to attracting private investment into green projects.

The business forum and the agreements reached marked another step in the development of Uzbek–British partnership and are aimed at supporting sustainable development and improving the environmental situation in the capital of Uzbekistan.
