Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A telephone conversation took place between the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov and the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for the Affairs of the President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mansur bin Zoid Al-Nahayyon, Dunyo reported.

During the conversation, the course of the implementation of joint investment projects in the field of traditional and alternative energy, the oil and gas industry, financial, technical, cultural and humanitarian cooperation was discussed.

The parties noted that despite the global slowdown in economic activity and the time constraints caused by the coronavirus pandemic, cooperation between the countries is developing dynamically.

It was noted that due to the coordinated joint work of both parties in May-June of this year, signing of key legal agreements on major projects in the energy sector is expected.

The Uzbek side expressed gratitude to the UAE government for the humanitarian assistance provided in the fight against COVID-19 - in March of this year, humanitarian supplies were sent to Uzbekistan, including masks, overalls, gloves and other protective equipment, as well as medical equipment designed to combat the spread of coronavirus.

As a result of the negotiations, agreements were reached on the active promotion of joint investment projects and the efforts of both parties to ensure their unconditional implementation in a predetermined time frame.
