Uzbekistan and the Islamic Development Bank Discuss Agricultural Projects for 2026–2027
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Alisher Shukurov held a working meeting with Farid Ahmed Khan, Operations Manager of the Regional Center of the Islamic Development Bank, to discuss prospects for cooperation in 2026–2027.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed the readiness of projects planned for implementation during this period, their technical and economic justifications, and timelines for execution.
Particular attention was given to accelerating and effectively phasing the projects, simplifying financing procedures, and enhancing the impact of the initiatives.
The discussion also covered priority areas for agricultural development, including efficient water resource management, the introduction of modern agrotechnologies, the expansion of processing and value-added chains, and the modernization of agricultural infrastructure.
Existing master plans were analyzed, and new projects were proposed for potential inclusion in the Islamic Development Bank’s three-year work program.
As a result of the talks, both sides agreed to further strengthen cooperation, support new initiatives, and ensure the consistent implementation of joint projects aimed at the sustainable development of agriculture in Uzbekistan.
