Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to the Benelux countries Dilyor Khakimov met with the Secretary General of the International Association of Prosecutors Hans Moral.
The purpose of the meeting is to promote the maintenance and development of new international contacts by the General Prosecutor of Uzbekistan.
During the negotiations, the Secretary General of the international organization noted that its mission is to support prosecutors at the international level in the fight against organized and other forms of crime through the development of international cooperation.
At the same time, interaction is carried out in the process of collecting and providing evidence, tracking, seizing and confiscating proceeds of serious crimes and prosecuting criminals hiding from justice.
During the discussion of the prospects for cooperation with Uzbekistan, the parties noted a positive attitude towards maintaining bilateral contacts, readiness to organize exchanges with prosecutors from other countries. It was noted that the possibility of organizing a trip of the IAP President to Uzbekistan as part of his visit to Central Asian countries in the first half of 2020 is currently being considered.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on the participation of representatives of the International Association of Prosecutors in the work of the Tashkent Law Spring International Legal Forum on 23–25 April 2020, as well as their direction as international observers for the elections to the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
It should be noted that the International Association of Prosecutors, established in 1995, currently has over 180 members from more than 175 countries.
