Uzbekistan and the Czech Republic Discuss Expanding Cooperation Between Small Businesses and Startups

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbek diplomats held a meeting with the President of the Association of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Crafts of the Czech Republic, Josef Jaroš, and the Association’s Deputy President for International Affairs, Vítězslav Hruška, the Dunyo News Agency reported.

During the talks, the parties discussed prospects for expanding mutually beneficial economic cooperation, strengthening interaction, and implementing joint projects between the two countries.

Particular attention was given to enhancing trade and economic ties, developing partnerships between small business entities, and launching joint investment initiatives.

The sides emphasized their interest in establishing direct contacts between entrepreneurs, as well as in the regular organization of business forums and B2B meetings.

The Czech side was provided with detailed information on the dynamic development of Uzbekistan’s economy, its potential in industry, agriculture, information technologies, healthcare, and tourism, as well as on the favorable investment environment created in the country’s free economic zones.

It was noted that Czech entrepreneurs, including innovative startups, are considering relocating production processes to countries with more comfortable business conditions, which opens up new opportunities for attracting technological and high-tech projects to Uzbekistan.

The leadership of the Association expressed its readiness to establish direct cooperation with the Craftsmen’s Union of Uzbekistan and other similar organizations.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to develop a memorandum of understanding and to hold additional consultations to coordinate bilateral cooperation and implement joint initiatives.
