Uzbekistan and Talos Capital Agree on Venture Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, together with IT Park Uzbekistan, continues a series of strategic meetings in the United States aimed at developing international venture cooperation and supporting the entry of Uzbek startups into the global market.

During the visit, a strategic meeting was held with the American venture firm Talos Capital, which specializes in early-stage investments in artificial intelligence, DeepTech, cybersecurity, defense technologies, Industry 4.0, and fintech.

Participants included Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov; Chairman of the Supervisory Board of IT Park Uzbekistan, Farhod Ibragimov; CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan, Abdulakhad Kuchkarov; Director of Global Marketing at IT Park Uzbekistan, Jamilya Khalibaeva; Talos Capital Managing Partner Nir Netzer; and Talos Capital Project Director Paul Sheehan.

The parties discussed prospects for systematic collaboration in venture investments and startup acceleration. Talos Capital expressed interest in examining Uzbekistan’s national startup pool and jointly evaluating promising technology companies aligned with its investment focus. Special attention was given to establishing a structured mechanism for project exchange and coordinated expert assessment of startups in partnership with IT Park Uzbekistan.

The discussion also covered Talos Capital’s potential participation in joint investment initiatives in Uzbekistan, including the Digital Startups Program, with coordination on due diligence processes, co-investment models, and acceleration of early-stage investments.

Support for soft-landing was also addressed for Talos Capital’s portfolio companies planning to enter the Uzbek market. This would include access to IT Park infrastructure, regulatory consultations, assistance in launching pilot projects with local enterprises, and fostering partnerships with the private sector.

The parties agreed to expand knowledge exchange and cooperation within international innovation programs, including Talos Capital’s participation in venture initiatives and expert programs aimed at developing DeepTech and artificial intelligence sectors in Uzbekistan.

At the conclusion of the discussions, both sides confirmed their intention to continue collaboration, facilitate the entry of Talos Capital’s portfolio companies into the Central Asian market, attract venture investments to Uzbek startups, and strengthen Uzbekistan’s role in the global innovation ecosystem.
