Uzbekistan and Tajikistan energy ministers discuss coordination of power systems
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 14 August, in the city of Guliston, Sughd region, Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov met with Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan Daler Juma.
The meeting was also attended by senior officials and specialists from fuel and energy companies of both countries.
During the talks, it was emphasized that bilateral cooperation initiated by the leaders of the two friendly states — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon — is developing dynamically and effectively in all areas, including the energy sector.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues of interaction in the energy field, with special attention given to coordinating the operation of energy systems during the autumn–winter period of 2025–2026, as well as to the technical aspects of the “Reconnection to the Unified Power System of Central Asia” project.
Following the meeting, the participants expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation and confirmed their readiness to further strengthen fraternal and strategic relations in the interests of the peoples of both countries.
