Uzbekistan and Spain sign memorandum on cooperation in economy, industry
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Spain signed an intergovernmental memorandum on cooperation in the field of economy and industry on 13 November 2017.

The document was signed during the visit of the Uzbek delegation headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov to Madrid.

The delegation of Uzbekistan held a meeting with the State Secretary for Trade of the Kingdom of Spain, Maria Luisa Poncela, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.

Representatives of the two countries discussed the priority areas for further development of cooperation, primarily in the trade, economic and investment spheres between Uzbekistan and Spain.

It was noted that today Uzbekistan and Spain have sufficient opportunities to expand investment ties, increase the volume and range of mutual trade, which in January-July 2017 made up US$71.5 million.

During the meeting and the business forum held on the same day, with the participation of representatives of business circles of Uzbekistan and Spain, the prospects of implementing new joint and mutually beneficial projects in various fields of the economy were examined in detail.

As a result, a memorandum between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Kingdom of Spain on cooperation in the field of economy and industry, as well as the Agreement on Cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Chamber of Commerce of Spain were signed .
