Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 21 November, Sodik Safoev, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, held a meeting with Kim Gyo Hon, Chair of the Committee on Culture, Tourism, and Sports of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea and head of the Korea–Uzbekistan Parliamentary Friendship Group.

The parties discussed the current state and future prospects of Uzbek-Korean relations, with particular attention to bilateral inter-parliamentary cooperation.

It was noted that relations between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea have been steadily developing on the basis of trust, friendship, and mutual support.

Special emphasis was placed on the recent meeting of the leaders of the two countries, which took place in September 2025 on the sidelines of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, giving additional momentum to bilateral engagement.

During the discussion, it was highlighted that inter-parliamentary cooperation in recent years has acquired a systematic character.

The parliaments of both countries possess significant potential to deepen dialogue in areas such as healthcare, digital technologies, climate policy, sports, and other relevant fields.
