Uzbekistan and South Korea strengthen cooperation in digital content
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — IT Park hosted a meeting with a South Korean delegation led by Baek Byung Joo, CEO of IT Works Korea, and Kim Seong Jun, Chairman of the Korean Broadcasters Engineering & Technicians Association (KOBETA).
IT Works Korea, a resident of IT Park, recently opened an office in Samarkand. Specializing in video editing, the company employs 42 people and exports its services to South Korea and Japan.
Founded in 1987, KOBETA represents 27 South Korean television companies and serves as a key player in the country’s broadcasting industry.
The meeting focused on attracting Uzbek specialists in video editing, computer graphics, VFX, and animation for international projects. Kim Seong Jun highlighted the high level of expertise demonstrated by Uzbek professionals working on projects for Korean television networks. In response, IT Works Korea proposed collaboration in training specialists in graphic design, webtoon design, video editing, VFX, and animation for the global market.
Particular attention was given to an initiative proposed by Makhliyo Muksinova, Director of Export Service Development, who suggested establishing a graphic production center in Samarkand to train young talents in advanced video production and design technologies.
“Samarkand has the potential to become a true content hub, connecting Uzbekistan’s creative talents with South Korea’s cutting-edge technologies,” Muksinova emphasized.
The parties agreed to sign a memorandum of cooperation between IT Park Uzbekistan, IT Works Korea, and KOBETA in the near future, followed by detailed planning of joint projects.
This promising bilateral partnership will create new opportunities for Uzbek professionals in digital content production. Establishing a graphic production center in Samarkand will strengthen Uzbekistan’s position on the international stage, providing young talents with the chance to learn from leading Korean experts and contributing to the country’s creative industry development.
