Uzbekistan and South Korea hold 17th political talks

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The 17th round of Uzbekistan–South Korea inter-ministerial political consultations was held in Seoul on April 9, 2026.

The Uzbek delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Olimjon Abdullaev, while the South Korean side was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Chung Eui-hae.

During the talks, the parties reviewed a broad range of issues related to the current state and future prospects of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and South Korea. Priority areas of cooperation for the near term were identified.

The sides also focused on coordinating the schedule of upcoming events at various levels and formats, aimed at ensuring the consistent development of bilateral dialogue.

Special attention was given to expanding cooperation in the field of labor migration.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue regular dialogue between the foreign ministries, aimed at strengthening practical cooperation across key areas of the bilateral agenda.
