Uzbekistan and South Korea Expand Cooperation in the Railway Sector

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 18 September, Deputy Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Ilhomjon Abdugafarov held a meeting with representatives of the Korea Railroad Research Institute (KRRI) and Ajou University.

During the talks, the parties discussed issues of enhancing the qualifications of railway workers, academic exchange of faculty and students, training of highly skilled specialists, as well as conducting joint scientific research.

Particular attention was given to the development of training programs based on South Korea’s experience to improve the skills of specialists in high-speed train maintenance.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the sides agreed on further steps for implementing the discussed initiatives and confirmed their commitment to intensify cooperation in this field.
