Uzbekistan and South Korea discussed implementation of joint projects
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Trade, the parties discussed current state and prospects of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
The parties discussed issues related to implementation of projects to create processing capacities of agricultural products in Uzbekistan with the introduction of advanced technologies.
The Korean side stated that fruit and vegetable and melon products grown in Uzbekistan are popular in Korea for their taste qualities and expressed their readiness to organize systemic and long-term deliveries of finished products with high added value.
In addition, the Korean side was informed of ongoing reforms aimed at further liberalizing the economy.
Kim Jong-hoon welcomed implementation of these reforms and noted that with the liberalization of the foreign exchange market, Uzbekistan has significantly strengthened the country’s investment attractiveness. In the coming years, it is expected to increase the flow of Korean investments into the economy of Uzbekistan.
Following the meeting, the sides expressed mutual interest in continuing their joint work.
