Uzbekistan and South Korea Discuss Migration Partnership Agreement and Economic Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During an official working visit to the Republic of Korea, a delegation from Uzbekistan led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Olimjon Abdullaev held talks with South Korea’s Deputy Foreign Minister Jung Ki-hong.

The sides discussed prospects for expanding economic cooperation, supporting the Korean diaspora in Uzbekistan and Uzbek citizens in South Korea, as well as labor migration issues. An interagency review of the draft migration partnership agreement is currently underway.

The South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed its readiness to facilitate the signing of the agreement and to further strengthen cooperation in cultural-humanitarian, economic, and labor migration spheres.
