Uzbekistan and South Korea Discuss Expanding Investment Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 31 March, a working group from Uzbekistan, led by Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade Ilzat Kasimov, held discussions in Seoul with Park Chun Soon, Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry, and Energy of South Korea.

The meeting focused on opportunities to expand trade, economic, and investment cooperation between the two countries.

In a separate session with KOICA leadership, the sides initiated the development of a new partnership memorandum, planned through 2028. An agreement was also reached with Herald Group to hold a joint Uzbekistan–South Korea business forum as part of the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum.

Negotiations with leading Korean companies — KIND, BOMI, and KICOX — centered on concrete projects in healthcare, aviation, infrastructure, and urban development. Particular attention was given to advancing public-private partnerships and applying Korean expertise in the management of Uzbekistan’s industrial zones.
