Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Deputy Minister of Construction of Uzbekistan E. Iskandarov held online negotiations with the Executive Vice President of the South Korean company “Hanshin Engineering & Construction” Kwak Dong Hong, Dunyo correspondent reports.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade and the State Assets Management Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Deputy Chairman of the Korean-Uzbek Business Association under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of the Republic of Korea Kim Chang Keon.
The parties discussed the issue of creating a joint design institute in Uzbekistan on the basis of Kishlokkurilishloyicha LLC, Toshuyzhoyliti JSC and Uzogirsanoatloyikha JSC, which will become unique in the CIS.
Negotiations on this issue between the parties began in April this year. Then the South Korean side confirmed its readiness to study materials on these projects.
At the current negotiations, information was provided on improving and implementing modern building standards in Uzbekistan, as well as improving the quality of construction by introducing advanced solutions and experience of foreign countries.
Hanshin Engineering & Construction Executive Vice President Kwak Dong Hung has expressed interest in the speedy implementation of projects and the signing of an agreement.
During the discussions, specific steps were also considered on the possible acquisition by the South Korean side of a state stake in the above design institutes. In this regard, the State Assets Management Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan will provide relevant information.
As a result of the negotiations, the parties agreed to continue the negotiation process through video conferencing.
