Uzbekistan and South Korea Agree to Expand Cooperation in the IT Sector
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan Rustam Karimjonov held a meeting with Kim Kyo-sin, a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea and Chairperson of the Education and Culture Committee, during which the parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in the field of information technology.
During the talks, the sides noted the active expansion of Korean IT companies’ operations in Uzbekistan. It was reported that by the end of the current year, the number of such companies is expected to reach 30.
The meeting also addressed issues related to attracting foreign investment, the construction of large data centers, the development of digital education, and the implementation of joint projects.
The parties agreed that by 2030 the number of Uzbek companies exporting IT services should reach 100.
In addition, an agreement was reached to expand the scale of joint initiatives and strengthen the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea through practical measures.
