Uzbekistan and South Korea Agree on Heating Modernization and Bioenergy Projects

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 12 September, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov held a working meeting with a delegation from the state corporation Korea District Heating Corporation (KDHC), led by Chairman Jeon Young Gi

During the talks, the parties discussed three key areas of cooperation: modernization of the heating system in Zarafshan city, construction of a bioenergy complex in Jizzakh region, and the introduction of advanced energy solutions under the “New Tashkent” project. Mechanisms of public–private partnership and financing models suitable for all stakeholders were also considered.

Both sides confirmed their mutual interest in expanding cooperation and agreed to continue detailed work on the initiatives. The implementation of these projects will enable the creation of a modern heating system, improve energy efficiency, and strengthen investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea.

Founded in 1985, KDHC is the largest state-owned company in the Republic of Korea in the field of district heating, cogeneration, cooling systems, and the deployment of renewable energy sources. Today, the corporation supplies energy to more than two million households and organizations through an extensive production and regional network.
