Uzbekistan and Slovenia Strengthen Cooperation in the Pharmaceutical Sector
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Slovenia was held in Ljubljana.
During the meeting, Abdulla Azizov, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry, presented current bilateral projects and prospective opportunities in the pharmaceutical sector.
The parties discussed ways to expand economic, investment, and scientific-technical cooperation. The Slovenian delegation expressed interest in strengthening partnership in biotechnology, pharmaceutical production, support for innovative initiatives, and training of qualified personnel.
During the negotiations, an agreement was reached to launch student exchange programs in the pharmaceutical field. The visit included a meeting at the National Institute of Biology of Slovenia, where both sides agreed to conduct joint scientific research, enhance the skills of young specialists, and organize programs for the exchange of knowledge and experience.
Following the talks, a memorandum of mutual cooperation was signed, and the delegation familiarized itself with the institute’s laboratories and ongoing scientific projects.
Additionally, the parties intend to implement joint manufacturing projects in the pharmaceutical sector, develop biotechnological initiatives, and introduce programs aimed at enhancing educational and scientific potential. Special attention will be given to supporting innovative ideas and expanding international cooperation.
