Uzbekistan and Slovenia Agree to Expand Economic Cooperation Following Intergovernmental Commission Meeting in Ljubljana
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, took part in the meeting of the Uzbek–Slovenian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation held on 18 November in Ljubljana.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the expansion of trade and economic ties, the development of transport and agricultural projects, cooperation in digital transformation, education, and other promising areas, reaffirming their commitment to deepening bilateral dialogue.
As part of the visit, Kudratov held separate talks with Slovenia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Tanja Fajon.
The two sides examined opportunities to expand cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry, logistics, and the sphere of critical minerals, and discussed support measures to promote Uzbek products on the European Union market.
Following the meeting, the parties signed the protocol of the intergovernmental commission and a memorandum of cooperation between the agriculture ministries of the two countries.
Talks were also held in Ljubljana with representatives of several Slovenian companies. As a result, agreements were reached to jointly develop projects in digitalization, aviation, personnel training, pharmaceuticals, energy, and insurance.
