Uzbekistan and Serbia Strengthen Cooperation in Tourism

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 3 April 2026, Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan Sanjar Tadjiev held talks with Serbian Deputy Minister of Culture Lav Pajkic. The discussions focused on developing Uzbekistan’s tourism potential and strengthening its attractiveness for international travelers.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the creation of priority tourist destinations and measures to promote the country’s cultural heritage. Special attention was given to the development of film tourism and cooperation with foreign film companies.

Projects such as the tax rebate program and “Film in Uzbekistan” initiative were presented, both aimed at attracting international film productions, as well as facilitating the exchange of experience with foreign studios, including Netflix.

The Serbian side expressed interest in applying Uzbekistan’s experience in implementing major tourism facilities, such as the Center of Islamic Civilization, and showed readiness to involve Uzbek specialists in similar projects in Serbia.

Following the meeting, both sides noted the high potential for joint initiatives in tourism and cultural exchange.

The parties agreed to implement projects in film tourism, organize PR campaigns and familiarization tours, which will help promote both countries as attractive tourist destinations on the international stage.
