The discussions focused on prospects for deepening practical cooperation between the two countries.

President Mirziyoyev warmly welcomed the Serbian leader, noting that the first summit in the period of bilateral cooperation would be a historic event, raising relations to a new qualitative level.

“Your official visit, in the year marking the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations, is a historic event. Uzbekistan holds Serbia in high regard. Our peoples are bound by strong ties of friendship and share a similar mentality,” the President emphasized.

The meeting prioritized expanding trade and preparing a comprehensive cooperation program in key sectors, including engineering, pharmaceuticals, the chemical industry, information technology and digitalization, the agro-industrial complex, tourism, and other areas. Special attention was given to developing new transport routes connecting Central Asia and the Balkans, including the Trans-Caspian corridor.
