Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia Discuss Cooperation in Labor Migration

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 24 December, a delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Olimjon Abdullaev, met in Riyadh with Ahmad bin Muhammad al-Sharqi, Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development of Saudi Arabia.

The parties discussed strengthening cooperation in legal labor migration, professional training, labor inspection, and employment coordination.

Particular attention was given to the launch of the “Takamul” platform in Saudi Arabia in January 2026, aimed at digitalizing the recruitment process for foreign workers, and the possibility of adapting this system in Uzbekistan. The platform will allow Uzbek citizens to conclude labor contracts directly with employers.

An agreement was also reached on integrating the “Qiwa” platform into Uzbekistan’s vocational training centers and developing joint programs to enhance worker qualifications.

The parties agreed to establish a working group to systematically advance cooperation in labor migration.

Following the meeting, the Uzbek delegation received an invitation to participate in the international “Global Labor Market Conference,” scheduled to take place in Riyadh on 29–30 January 2026.
