Uzbekistan and Russia sign action plan for creative economy and tourism collaboration
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting took place at the Agency for Strategic Reforms (ASR), where ASR Director Bahodir Rakhmatov met with a delegation from the Russian Agency for Strategic Initiatives, headed by General Director Svetlana Chupsheva.
During the meeting, the results of their previous cooperation were reviewed, and new areas for collaboration for the current year were discussed.
Several significant initiatives have been implemented during their partnership, including the opening of the "Tocca Prityazheniya" Center in Tashkent, aimed at fostering collaboration between science, industry, and innovation; the creation of a legal framework for the development of the creative economy; the adoption of the "Creative Economy" Law; and organizing a series of meetings between representatives of the creative industries of both countries. New types of tourism, such as industrial and geological tourism, have also been introduced.
To further expand cooperation, an Action Plan for 2025 was signed, covering several key areas. One of these is the organization of a brand competition to promote Uzbek companies in the Russian market. Winners of the competition will be able to attend training programs, present their products on marketplaces, gain membership in business associations, participate in international events, and benefit from media support for promoting successful projects.
The plan also outlines the further development of the creative economy, including the introduction of a Regional Standard for the Development of Creative Industries, organizing business missions, and launching a platform for interaction between creative clusters in Uzbekistan and Russia. Representatives of the creative industries of both countries will participate in joint conferences and forums. Special attention will be given to education in the creative economy, including grant-based education at "Universal University."
Another key area is the development of volunteerism. Both sides agreed to develop regional standards for volunteer activities and enhance its contribution to the social and economic development of the country. A joint working group will be created to examine the legal framework and develop new initiatives.
Additionally, the plan includes continued development of industrial tourism. Tourist routes for visiting industrial enterprises will be proposed to promote working and technical professions and increase overall tourist flow.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of deepening their partnership, exchanging best practices, and jointly implementing projects.
