Uzbekistan and Russia Parliamentarians Outline New Steps for Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The second meeting of the Interparliamentary Commission on Cooperation between the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation was held.

During the meeting, deputies discussed the role of parliament in implementing agreements reached at the highest level during meetings between the heads of the two states.

It was noted that in recent years, relations between Uzbekistan and Russia have reached a qualitatively new level, with mutual trust across all sectors becoming a key factor for further development of interparliamentary cooperation.

The parties agreed on directions for further interaction, including expanding mutually beneficial cooperation, exchanging experience in legislative work, and strengthening parliamentary oversight over the implementation of high-level agreements.

During the visit, the delegation also visited Victory Park, laid flowers at the “Hymn of Resilience” monument, and familiarized themselves with the activities of IT Park Uzbekistan and the Center of Islamic Civilization.
