Uzbekistan and Russia Expand Cooperation in Tourism
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 26 November 2025, Tashkent hosted the third meeting of the Tourism Cooperation Subcommittee under the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation.
The meeting was chaired by the First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan, D. Abdusalamov, and the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, D. Vakhrukov. Representatives from relevant ministries and agencies, tourism organizations, educational institutions, and business circles from both countries participated in the event.
During the session, participants reviewed the implementation of previously reached agreements, progress on the 2025–2026 Cooperation Program, and the outcomes of activities carried out under the “Year of Uzbekistan Tourism in Russia.” A steady positive trend was noted in mutual tourism exchanges, with growing direct contacts between sectoral organizations and increasing interest among citizens of both countries in visiting each other.
Following the discussions, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further developing joint tourism products, expanding educational programs, improving transportation accessibility, and intensifying joint marketing efforts.
It was emphasized that strengthening bilateral cooperation in tourism contributes to deeper humanitarian ties and promotes cultural exchange between Uzbekistan and Russia.
