Uzbekistan and Russia Discuss Development of Organized Labor Migration System
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and Russia have discussed the current state and future prospects of the organized recruitment system for labor migrants, as well as potential steps to improve existing mechanisms for regulating labor migration, according to the Dunyo news agency.
During the negotiations, particular attention was paid to cooperation within the framework of Russia’s digital platform “Work in Russia.” Discussions included the integration of information systems, the creation of a personal account for the representative office of Uzbekistan’s Agency for External Labor Migration under the Cabinet of Ministers, and the development of a joint informational tool aimed at clarifying the main requirements and procedures for foreign citizens seeking employment.
The Uzbek side reaffirmed its interest in expanding legal channels for the employment of its citizens in the Russian Federation and expressed readiness for closer cooperation between the relevant agencies of both countries. Among the key topics were initiatives to simplify procedures for organized recruitment, assist in the selection of reliable employers, and implement joint monitoring mechanisms to assess employer integrity.
As part of the presentation of the "Work in Russia" platform’s capabilities, the Russian delegation emphasized their willingness to further develop international cooperation in the digitalization of labor processes. They also confirmed the technical readiness for system integration and the creation of an official account for Uzbekistan’s representative office within the platform.
As a result of the negotiations, the two sides reached an agreement to jointly develop informational products tailored to the Uzbek-Russian audience. These will explain in detail all stages and requirements related to the employment of foreign nationals.
It is worth noting that earlier reports indicated Russia’s plans to tighten Russian language exams for migrants and expand the database of questions used in these tests.
