Uzbekistan and Russia: a course for further expansion of trade and industrial cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan from representatives of the ministries of economy and industry, investment and foreign trade, health care, transport, Uzbekistan Temir Yollari and Uzavtosanoat paid a visit to Moscow, Russia, on 24-26 February.
The main purpose of the visit was to discuss the current state and prospects for further development of Uzbek-Russian cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, transport, industrial cooperation and health.
During the meeting at the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the parties reviewed implementation of projects included in the program of economic cooperation between Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2019-2024. The negotiations also discussed the issue of attracting assistance from Russian partners in the process of Uzbekistan’s accession to the WTO.
The dialogue with representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation was devoted to the possibilities of increasing industrial cooperation between the economic entities of the two countries. In particular, the projects that are being carried out jointly with the companies that are part of Rostec State Corporation are discussed in detail. The Russian side also presents new concrete investment proposals for joint implementation.
At the meeting with the leadership of the All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade, the sides talked about the coordination of efforts in the field of personnel training for various sectors of the economy, including trade and industry.
The delegation of Uzbekistan held talks with representatives of the Agency "Rosavtotrans", OJSC "Russian Railways", LLC "RT-Invest Transport Systems" and JSC "GLONASS". In addition, the official delegation of Uzbekistan visited the Skolkovo Technopark and got acquainted with the conditions created here for start-ups, medical clusters, and principles for creating a favorable environment for the emergence of successful technology companies.
