Uzbekistan and Qatar Agree on Joint Social Workers Program

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During the Second World Summit on Social Development in Qatar, Usman Sharifkhodjaev, Deputy Director of the Agency for Social Protection of Uzbekistan, held a meeting with Rashid Al Naimi, Director General of the State Social Fund of Qatar.

The parties discussed prospects for exchanging experience between specialized rehabilitation institutions in both countries, including the SHAFALLAH, AMAN, EBRAR, and WAFA centers. The focus was on support for persons with disabilities, protection of victims of violence, work with the elderly, children, and families, as well as the development of youth initiatives and volunteer programs.

Following the discussions, an agreement was reached to launch a professional development program for social workers from Uzbekistan, with opportunities for practical training in Qatar. The first program will focus on the protection of children’s rights. Additionally, the parties discussed joint research in the field of social protection aimed at increasing the effectiveness of social services.
