Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov announced promising prospects for expanding economic cooperation with Portugal following a business forum featuring leading companies and investment circles from the European nation.

The Uzbekistan-Portugal Business Forum took place on April 8, 2026, in Lisbon. According to the Minister, the forum served as a vital platform for discussing current issues of interaction amidst the ongoing transformation of the global economy. Both parties emphasized the significance of establishing resilient supply chains, improving the investment climate, and developing interregional cooperation.

Participants of the meeting highlighted a significant potential for deepening partnerships in key sectors, including engineering, agriculture, energy, transport, tourism, and information technology.

At the conclusion of the forum, the complementary nature of the two countries' economies was noted, alongside a mutual interest in developing sustainable and innovation-oriented partnerships.
