Uzbekistan and Poland Discuss Prospects for Cooperation in the Pharmaceutical Industry
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 4 November 2025, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Azizov, held a meeting with a delegation from Poland that included representatives of leading Polish pharmaceutical companies — Polpharma, Adamed Pharma, and Biofarm.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of bilateral cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector, implementation of investment projects, and current issues of pricing policy in the market.
The Polish side highlighted the importance of introducing international standards in Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical industry, particularly the World Listed Authority (WLA) recognition system.
They described the implementation of this system as a significant step that increases Polish companies’ interest in cooperation with Uzbekistan. Moreover, the introduction of WLA creates opportunities for local manufacturers to enter international markets and strengthens export potential.
The meeting also covered topics such as reference pricing policy, support for local production, attraction of foreign investment, and establishment of joint ventures in the pharmaceutical sector.
Polish companies expressed their intention to expand their presence in Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical market and to cooperate in scientific research, innovation, and education.
The meeting was held in an open and constructive atmosphere. Both sides agreed to further strengthen relations in the pharmaceutical industry, open new investment avenues, and develop long-term cooperation between pharmaceutical enterprises of the two countries.
