Uzbekistan and Poland Discuss Agricultural Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 27 November, a bilateral meeting was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan with a delegation led by Poland’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Stefan Krajevski.

Representing Uzbekistan were officials from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Agency for Technical Regulation, and leading enterprises from the agricultural and processing sectors.

Alisher Shaikhov, Advisor to the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, opened the meeting by outlining the country’s ongoing economic reforms, support measures for the private sector, and the sustainable growth of industrial and agricultural sectors.

During the discussions, the parties focused on the export potential of fruits and vegetables, dairy, meat, and poultry products, as well as the development of industrial and agricultural cooperation. Particular attention was given to creating joint logistics and production hubs to supply products to markets in Europe, Central Asia, the CIS, China, the Middle East, and Afghanistan.

Akmal Jumanazarov, Director of the Agency for Technical Regulation, briefed the Polish delegation on efforts to align Uzbekistan’s national standardization and certification system with international requirements.

The Polish side confirmed readiness to implement joint projects in meat and dairy processing, seed production, the food industry, alternative energy, hydroponics, veterinary services, and phytosanitary control.

Additionally, the parties discussed establishing joint industrial and logistics centers for processing products and goods, with decisions made to create working groups and exchange specialist visits for each sector.

The meeting marked a significant step in strengthening Uzbekistan–Poland cooperation in trade, industry, and agricultural technologies.
