Uzbekistan and Paraguay Discuss Expansion of Trade, Technology, and Tourism

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Talks were held at the Kuksaroy Residence between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Paraguay Santiago Peña, with official delegations from both countries in attendance.

The discussions focused on prospects for further strengthening practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Paraguay.

Welcoming his guest, President Mirziyoyev emphasized the historical significance of the visit, noting that it is the first official visit by a Latin American head of state to Uzbekistan. According to him, the meeting marks a new stage in the development of friendly and partnership relations between the two countries.

The sides discussed key areas for expanding bilateral interaction, including trade and economic relations, cultural and humanitarian ties, education, and other sectors.

Particular attention was paid to increasing mutual trade, developing business contacts, and implementing joint projects in agriculture, the food and chemical industries, digital technologies, tourism, and sports.

During the talks, the leaders also exchanged views on pressing issues on the international and regional agenda.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their readiness to develop political dialogue and deepen practical cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
