Uzbekistan and Pakistan Strengthen Cooperation in the Leather Industry
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of a business visit by representatives of the leather industry of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Uzbekistan, the delegation toured leading enterprises in the Tashkent region.
In particular, the guests visited Angrencha Charm Invest and Hamkor Nur Savdo, where they were briefed on the production process, infrastructure, raw material base, and export potential.
The visit served as a practical step toward expanding trade and economic cooperation between the leather sectors of the two countries and exploring opportunities for joint projects.
The main focus was placed on international trade in raw hides, especially the export of cattle hides produced in Uzbekistan to Pakistan. The Pakistani side emphasized the strong demand for this type of raw material and its compliance with international standards.
Preliminary negotiations have begun in this area, with both sides agreeing to examine supply terms, volumes, logistics, and customs procedures in greater detail.
At Angrencha Charm Invest, the delegation inspected production facilities and technological lines, as well as the range of products offered.
The meetings concluded with a preliminary agreement on the implementation of joint investment projects for deep leather processing and the production of finished goods for export to Pakistan and third countries.
Discussions also included prospects for cooperation in a franchising format, under which products manufactured in Uzbekistan could be supplied to international markets under a Pakistani brand.
The emerging partnership in the leather industry between Uzbekistan and Pakistan is of strategic importance: Uzbekistan offers high-quality raw materials and advanced infrastructure, while Pakistan provides export expertise and established international distribution channels.
