Uzbekistan and Pakistan Hold First Online Parliamentary Meeting

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and Pakistan held their first online meeting of interparliamentary cooperation groups on 25 November 2025, officials reported.

During the meeting, participants discussed strengthening friendly relations, deepening strategic partnership, and expanding bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Officials noted that relations in recent years have developed dynamically, with active dialogue at the highest levels of government.

The discussion emphasized enhancing cultural and humanitarian ties, taking into account the historical and spiritual connections between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Pakistan.

Delegates also explored joint study of the scholarly and educational legacies of Imam Bukhari, Imam Termizi, and Ahmad Fergani, fostering cooperation between diplomatic academies, and implementing a project to translate unique literary works.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to hold a series of cultural events in Tashkent, Islamabad, and Lahore, and to strengthen sister-city relations between Bukhara and Lahore.
