Uzbekistan and Pakistan discuss strengthening of inter-parliamentary relations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 9 January 2019, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Furkat Sidikov met with the head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Uzbekistan, Senator Hidoyat Ullah.

During the meeting, issues of strengthening the Uzbek-Pakistani inter-parliamentary relations, improving the legal framework of cooperation, cooperation in agriculture, trade, investment, logistics and cultural interaction were discussed.

An agreement was reached on the organization in 2019 of mutual visits of parliamentarians of Uzbekistan and Pakistan.

The Pakistani side also expressed interest in sharing experiences and publications in the field of lawmaking and parliamentary reform.

Hidoyat Ullah confirmed his readiness to cooperate in the implementation of regional transport and logistics initiatives of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, primarily in the construction of the Mazar-i-Sharif-Kabul-Peshawar railway corridor.

The meeting was held in a fruitful and friendly atmosphere.
