Uzbekistan and Pakistan Discuss Investment and Localization of Pharmaceutical Production on International Platforms
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Representatives of Uzbekistan’s Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry are actively participating in international events held in Pakistan.
As part of the business program, agency specialists exchanged views with Pakistan’s Novamed Pharmaceuticals and Uzbekistan’s Omur Pharm, discussing investment cooperation, the expansion of export supplies, localization of production, and the attraction of qualified personnel.
Additionally, the agency’s director, Abdulla Azizov, held a separate meeting with representatives of Pakistan’s Zenith Pharmaceutical.
During the discussions, key attention was given to prospects for the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients, dietary supplements, nutraceuticals, and cosmetic products, as well as opportunities for deepening investment cooperation.
The parties also exchanged views on the potential for establishing production based on active pharmaceutical ingredients within Uzbekistan, including the placement of facilities in the Tashkent Pharma Park pharmaceutical cluster.
Following the exhibitions and business meetings, concrete proposals were put forward aimed at expanding Uzbek-Pakistani cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector, increasing exports of finished products, and further developing local production.
